Ride for a Clean Energy Revolution
At Power Shift 2016 Northeast, a generation of youth activists are taking over the SEPTA ahead of the Democratic National Convention to join the call for a clean energy revolution!
After the final sessions wrap up at Power Shift Northeast, young people will ride to the March for a Clean Energy Revolution. On the way, we’ll take to the trains to demand a just, clean energy-powered democracy—and highlight that this future is within our reach!
Young leaders will be coming to Philadelphia for Power Shift Northeast from all over the region (and beyond). The Ride for a Clean Energy Revolution will be a space to lift up stories about how every state is affected by regressive and damaging policies that are keeping our climate and our communities on the wrong track—from fracking in Pennsylvania to pipelines in Massachusetts to toxic power plants in Rhode Island.
After our ride, we’ll hop off the train to join the March for a Clean Energy Revolution. There, we’ll join our friends and allies from across the climate movement to make it clear to our decision makers: our planet and people cannot wait any longer for bold action to stop the climate crisis, and their platform does not go nearly far enough to create the power shift we need.
The March for a Clean Energy Revolution
Our Ride will take us to the March for a Clean Energy Revolution, organized by our friends at Food & Water Watch.
On the eve of the Democratic National Convention, thousands will march for action to prevent climate catastrophe and present our demands—to keep dirty fossil fuels in the ground, transition to a clean energy-powered economy, ban fracking, and secure environmental justice for all—directly to current and future policy makers.
